‘Climate change over the millennia. Winning solutions in the Nuragic era’. This was the focus of the new event organised by our Association on 15 April at Sa Manifattura in Cagliari.
Guiding the participants on a fascinating journey through nuragic sites and artefacts of ancient Sardinian civilisation was Maria Ausilia Fadda, a well-known archaeologist for several years at the Directorate of the Archaeological Superintendence of Sassari and Nuoro, who was introduced for the occasion by Paolo Tola, a member of the association La Sardegna verso l’Unesco.
The scholar, author of more than 200 scientific publications, addressed the topic by highlighting the changes that occurred at the end of the Bronze civilisation where, also due to climatic changes, the Nuragic populations modified architecture and customs. Several examples showed how the technical skills acquired by the Nuragic peoples enabled them to characterise the territory with new monuments of exceptional architectural and engineering quality aimed at safeguarding the relationship between man and the environment in the transition between the Bronze and Iron civilisations.
