The Region focuses on the nuraghi.

It is the most important allocation, which is part of the broader plan for enhancing the Sardinian nuragic heritage. With the 35 million euros allocated by the regional government, the intention is clear – never so distinct and explicit – to believe in and invest in the ancient Sardinian civilization as a driving force for development and growth for the entire Island.

The regional choice took another important step forward just before Ferragosto when the Executive adopted the resolution that indeed launches the project for the enhancement of the nuraghi in view of their inclusion in the “World Heritage List.” The news was picked up by regional media and was also the subject of discussion at the national level in various radio and television programs as a virtuous example of a reality that, accompanied and supported by the Institutions, aims to enhance the historical, identity, and cultural heritage represented for us by the ancient Sardinian civilization. We are proud that our Association is an active protagonist of this process to which we dedicate ourselves with enthusiasm and passion, involving all the local communities of Sardegna!

In essence, the provisions of Article 13, paragraph 2, of regional law 1/2023 are being implemented for the realization of enhancement, accessibility, and enjoyment interventions of the thirty-two sites included in the pilot project. There are two chapters of the allocation: one part for infrastructure; a second part for the immaterial innovation of the sites with the launch of the technological platform to support the management of the sites.

Looking at the funding, the resources available for the implementation of the program amount to €1,579,200 for 2023, €2,000,000 for 2024, €10,000,000 for 2025, €15,000,000 for 2026, and €5,000,000 for 2027. Over €900,000 in the current year is allocated for the design of the intervention model in accordance with the requirements for the Unesco nomination and for scientific support in the implementation of the program.

“La Sardegna verso l’Unesco” is therefore convinced that this time, we are starting in earnest: the current funding is just the first step of a plan that will require significant regional economic resources in the coming years and will involve all 377 municipalities of Sardegna, to create a new universally perceived image of our land, which can become the brand that allows us to be recognized in the world, changing the very history of our development model.
