An experiential workshop of two days that, through the most advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence, guided the students of the Up School Middle School in Cagliari on a journey through time and technology. Today marked the conclusion of the first experimental initiative, which will soon involve other schools in Sardinia, promoted by our Association and which engaged young students in a unique learning experience.
Guided by Andrea Concas (Art baker), the students were able to create images of a nuragic village through AI, making it the setting for a captivating story that later became the basis for the storyboard of a film and an illustrated comic.
“We have stimulated the students’ interest in the ancient history of Sardinia by demonstrating how technology can be a formidable ally in interpreting the millennia-old past that concerns us, with the aim of bringing new generations closer to the ancient Sardinian civilization. An initiative that we, as an Association, have embraced to help understand more and more the importance of the Sardinian nuragic heritage in terms of the future economic development of Sardinia,” explains President Pierpaolo Vargiu.
Vargiu also opened the second day before passing the baton to Concas, but the true protagonists were the students who, with their curiosity, created the story of a typical family made up of five members.
On the first day, with the participation of archaeologist Nicola Dessì, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the lifestyle and habits of the nuragic Sardinians. Today, with AI expert Concas, the practical example in the classroom: the students, in addition to the screenplay transformed by AI into a storyboard, created digital images inspired by the ancient Sardinian civilization.
“The nuraghi to inspire the future,” this is the title of the project, thus represented the opportunity to rediscover historical roots through the lens of modernity and the most advanced technologies available.
