46.2, 50a.2 and 50b.2: Nuraghe Athetu in Orani and the giants’ tombs Perdas Doladas and Zanchia in Silanus

46.2 and 50a.2: Of the numerous nuraghi attholosthat arose in the territory remain traces of about twenty of them, some have been destroyed by human demolition over the years. The only one that is preserved intact is the nuraghe Athetu which is in good condition, with the tholos and the internal environments are still intact with a surrounding nuragic settlement.

In the territory of Silanus, there are three giant tombs named Perdas Doladas. Only one of the burials is in a decent state of preservation. The group of burials also includes a fourth one called Bolude.

Northeast of these funerary monuments is the giant tomb of Zanchia, which features the lower part of the bilithic stele still intact, while the upper part lies toppled over the other stones of the tomb corridor.

The photos of the nuragic complex of Athetu are by Sergio Melis, Nicola Barbicha Tornello, and Paskale Pintori. Those of the giant tomb Perdas Doladas are by Nicola Castangia and Maurizio Cossu. Those of the giant tomb of Zanchia are by Sergio Melis.
