20 – The cult complex of Santa Vittoria, in Serri, is one of the 31 sites proposed to Unesco as flag bearers of the grandiose Nuragic civilization, its history, and its vast material testimonies.Santa Vittoria constitutes one of the most important cult complexes of the nuragic Sardinia. Spanning over 3 hectares, it is defended to the S/SW by a natural cliff and to the NW by a wall that follows the rocky edge. The sanctuary features four main groups of buildings: the two temples and the “priest’s hut,” the “festival enclosure,” the group of the “double betilo” enclosure, and the southeast group.
The well temple is the most important place in the entire sanctuary, being the first recognized and immediately subject to excavations. Dated to the 9th century BC by archaeologist Anati in 1985, the site was constructed using cyclopean technique, the same used for the nuraghi, but unlike these, with very well-crafted and unhewn stones.
