In the territory of Paulilatino, there is the tomb of giants of Mura Cuada. A burial site in excellent condition, both internally and externally, whose facade, made with medium-sized blocks well squared and arranged carefully, features in the center the low rectangular access door (about 50 cm wide and 60 cm high). The funerary chamber, which reaches about 1.80 m in height at its highest point, is very well preserved, as is the apse that closes the chamber at the back.
The “Atzara,” also in the territory of Paulilatino, is a complex trilobate nuraghe that features a tall main tower characterized by a wide base. The walls connecting the three external towers are still in good condition, while the reinforcement structures were built during the Punic and Roman periods. In relatively recent times, it has been cleared but awaits a more detailed excavation work to better understand its structure.
The photos of the tomb of giants Mura Cuada in Paulilatino are by Giovanni Sotgiu, Nuragando, Marco Cocco, and Alberto Valdès. Those of the nuraghe Atzara, also in Paulilatino, are by Alessandro Pilia.
