41.2 and 45.2: Nuraghe Brodu and Nuraghe Ola – Oniferi

41.2 and 45.2: The “Brodu” is a small single-tower nuraghe that stands near a Neolithic necropolis that includes 4 domus de janas, inside which there are petroglyphs interpreted as bull protomes. Regarding the nuraghe “Ola”, the site of “Cronache Nuoresi” states that “Among the first photographic attestations of the nuraghe Ola and the surrounding archaeological area in the Oniferi countryside, there are those of the linguist Max Leopold Wagner who, alongside the lexical surveys collected in the Nuorese region, took two shots during his first trip to Sardinia in 1905. Ola is a single-tower nuraghe built with different construction materials…the nuraghe is known for a natural phenomenon that can be appreciated during the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, when, at noon, a ray of sunlight penetrates the apex hole of the tholos, slowly traversing the entire wide vault until it illuminates a niche at the base of the chamber.” The photos of the nuraghe Brodu are by Nicola Castangia. The photo of one of the domus de janas facing it is by Giovanni Sotgiu. The photos of the nuraghe Ola are by Nicola Castangia, Maurizio Cossu, and Sergio Melis.
