105.2 and 115.2: Nuraghe Porto Pirastu in Muravera and nuraghe S’Ollastinu in Castiadas

105.2 and 115.2: The nuraghe Porto Pirastu of Muravera is located “guarding” the double and safe landing of the same name. Currently, only the walls and a concrete pavement of a relatively recent installation remain.

It is one of the many coastal nuraghi that characterize the coastline of Sarrabus.

The nuraghe Monte s’Ollastu or S’Ollastinu, in the territory of Castiadas, is a partially ruined single-tower structure but with the tholos open. It offers the possibility to climb to the last remaining row and enjoy the view over Cala Sinzias.

The location of the two nuraghi mentioned, along with the many others present along the coast, suggests the importance of protection and control of this territory during the nuragic period.

The photos of the nuraghe Porto Pirastu are by Andrea Mura-Nuragando Sardegna and Archeo Sarrabus. Those of the nuraghe S’Ollastinu are by Archeo Sarrabus, Antonello Gregorini, Bibi Pinna, and Francesca Cossu.
