Among the archaeological notes contained in the publication “Sardegna Nuragica”, there is also the description made by Giovanni Lilliu of the nuraghe Arrubiu di Orroli. It states, among other things, that “The megalithic complex is located at about 500 m altitude, on a plateau at the foot of the Giara, overlooking the villages of Nurri and Orroli. It extends over approximately 3 hectares in a landscape characterized by Mediterranean scrub and rugged hills. Built between the 13th and 9th centuries BC, it is the largest and most imposing nuraghe discovered so far in Sardinia, the only pentalobate, although from some models of nuraghi, such as the one with eight towers found at Monti Prama, near Cabras, it is presumed that there should have existed more majestic ones…”

The existence of absolutely majestic nuraghi is particularly confirmed by the nuraghe “S’Uraki”, in San Vero Milis, subject to partial excavation campaigns, which nonetheless allow for an appreciation of its extraordinary size, being structured in a central tower and four lateral ones surrounded by a large antemural equipped with ten towers.

The photos of the nuraghe Arrubiu di Orroli are by Andrea Mura-Nuragando Sardegna, Diversamente Sardi, and Sergio Melis. Those of the nuraghe S’Uraki di San Vero Milis are by Bibi Pinna, Valentino Selis, Francesco Cubeddu, and Marco Cocco. Attached is also the image of one of the 6 models of the octolobate nuraghe found at the site of Monte ‘e Prama.
