Fountains and water architectures at the center of the second meeting at Sa Manifattura.

On Monday, April 15, the second meeting titled “Fountains and water architectures in the history of Sardinia“inserted in the series of events that see our Association as the protagonist. Leading the moment of discussion and deepening was”Sandra Tobia, member of the Association, in a two-way conversation withMarco Cadinu, professor of History of Architecture (Unica). This was the second of the 6 scheduled meetings that began on March 26 with the President of the Association,Pierpaolo Vargiu, and the President of the scientific committee,Francesco Pigliaru.Sandra Tobia led the evening, presenting the project of the Association and its goals, retracing the key stages that have characterized the “journey” of the Sardinian nuragic heritage towards Unesco and introducing the theme: water, fountains, and water architectures in the history of Sardinia (the fountains, for example, also had a social role within the community). Water at the center of life, at the center of culture, at the center of development. Professor Cadinu decoded and articulated the theme of water through its architectures – numerous and scattered throughout Sardinia – from the oldest to the monumental, up to modern aqueducts and dams. An exciting and unprecedented journey that captured the attention of the 100 people present in the room.

Even with the last occasion, which saw a large participation and great interest in the topic of the meeting, the goal of the Association was to create specific moments of discussion involving all sensitivities interested in the project. The response was enthusiastic, testifying to the importance of the project that sees our Association as the protagonist.
