The first participatory meeting kicking off the ‘Sardegna nuragica’ project, promoted by our Association and coordinated by CREnOs, was held this morning in Barumini. The project idea, the aims and the future path of co-participation were presented to the municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, South Sardinia, Sulcis Iglesiente and Medio Campidano and to representatives of the economic and social fabric of the area concerned, including sector operators and enterprises. Not surprisingly, in the second part of the meeting, after the presentation of the project and the free speeches, the participants were involved in the animation and facilitation process through an ‘interactive session’ aimed at sharing priorities, strategies, financial instruments and cooperation proposals to be implemented in order to achieve a full valorisation of the Nuragic heritage.
All the stakeholders of the project partnership took part in the event: in addition to the Association and CRENoS, the CRP – Regional Programming Centre of the Region of Sardinia; CRS4 – Centre for Research, Development and Advanced Studies in Sardinia; the GLab of the University of Cagliari.
The initiative aims precisely at the creation of a network of cultural offerings to transform the 32 sites of the Nuragic civilisation included in the Unesco tentative list into an integrated system with the other resources and services of the territories involved, thus uniting tourism, training, entrepreneurship and research. The objective: to make the nuragic monuments more accessible, usable and attractive through services, platforms and ICT digital tools that the new network will design and make available to visitors and members themselves. All without compromising the historical and cultural integrity of the nuragic monuments. The planned technological platform will be a meeting point for visitors, scholars and practitioners. The project also envisages the design of specific interventions aimed at the growth of operators’ skills, business development and the strengthening of collaboration networks between operators.
This will be followed by meetings in Torralba (4 February 2025, 9.30 a.m. – 1.00 p.m., Valle dei Nuraghi Museum) targeting sites and territories in Northern Sardinia, Sassarese and Gallura, and in Abbasanta (14 February 2025, 9.30 a.m. – 1.00 p.m., Centro Servizi Losa) targeting sites and territories in the Oristanese, Nuorese and Ogliastra areas. The final event to present the results of the course, including guidelines for heritage management and strategies for its enhancement, is scheduled for December 2025 in Barumini.
