Continuing along the Sentiero dei Carbonai (charcoal burners’ path), leaving the Monte Maria nuraghe on the right, we take a track that runs for a good stretch inside the forest, completely in the shade and with a steep descent. As soon as you come out of this ‘tunnel’, the nuraghe Giuanneddu or di Ziu Giuanneddu appears, directly opposite.
A forerunner of the medieval castles, the nuraghe is built entirely on the rocky peak of the mountain that houses it and fits perfectly between spires and rocky ridges, surrounded by a mighty wall. It is another nuraghe that is not very easy to reach, but deserves a second visit.
