The ‘Santa Barbara’ of Bauladu is a complex nuraghe ‘clearly visible from afar thanks to the central tower, which still towers above the surrounding vegetation.
The ground floor, raised several metres by the presence of the collapsed ancient structures, provides a glimpse of the entrance door to the tholos on the ground floor, accessible only by crawling under the architrave. Inside, the roof tholos and the side niches can be appreciated, while the interior is cluttered with earth and stones accumulated over time.
Outside, some circular walls are visible, what remains of a vast Nuragic village. The largest of these structures was probably the meeting hut, a place well attested at many other sites, where collective meetings of the villagers took place.
From Bauladu drive for about 2 km along the SC Villanova – Truscheddu. The monument will be visible on the left’.
