The site, located in the territory of Scano di Montiferro, includes the Nuraghe Nuracale, of a complex type and built with large basalt blocks and the related village.“The central tower of the nuraghe is surrounded by four lateral towers connected by curtain walls.
Inside the bastion, there is a large courtyard.
The tholos of the lower chamber of the keep is still intact, although cluttered with debris and therefore unusable.
The second chamber, connected to the lower one by an elevated staircase, is instead collapsed.
Around the bastion, the remains of a turreted antemurale and the huts of the village are visible.
Among the collapse materials of the nuraghe, there are peculiar shaped stones equipped with cavities and edges for the insertion of lead fixing brackets.
The nuraghe is located 2.5 km from the town of Scano di Montiferro, along the SP 21 towards Sagama. Just after passing the Park of Birds, ascend the low hill on the left.”
