The nuraghe Barru is located on the summit of a limestone hill that dominates the underlying plain, divided in half between the municipalities of Guasila and Guamaggiore.
The monument was built with blocks of limestone marlstones mainly. Squared and arranged in regular rows. The layout of the nuraghe is complex.
The main tower is elliptical in shape, and connected to it, via curtain walls, are the two lateral towers with a circular base.
The presence of several silos for storing food supplies, and numerous stairwells, makes the layout of the building even more intricate.
In the courtyard, there is also a small room equipped with a cistern well, where animal and human bones, ceramic fragments, and some containers in excellent condition were found.
During the excavations, archaeologists also discovered some bronze razors and a votive sword.
On the eastern side of the hill, the remains of an extensive village are present. (from idese.cultura.gov.it)
