The Mandras nuraghe at Macomer

The Mandras Nuraghe, in the territory of Macomer, ‘appears as a single tower (with a single tower) consisting of a stairwell, a chamber and several niches, sometimes facing each other.

Constructed with a fairly regular technique, it is characterised by medium to large, rough-hewn blocks; the entrance faces south, with a fairly coarse architrave (the block placed horizontally on the entrance). It leads to a corridor that widens near the openings of the staircase and the niche.

The monument can be reached from the centre of Macomer, proceeding north from via Pugile towards via Pietro Nenni/viale P. Nenni. After about 800 m, turn right into via Emilio Lussu and, after 450 m, at the roundabout, continue straight on Corso Umberto I. Continue on the SS129bis Trasversale Sarda for 2.5 km, then turn right onto the E25. Follow the road for approximately 2.7 km, turn right and continue for 350 m; turn right again, keep to the left for 3.8 km: your destination will be reached’.
