The Nuraghe Asoru, in the territory of San Vito, ‘is located in a valley basin surrounded by hills sloping down towards the sea of Colostrai, at an altitude of 32 m above sea level.
It is a complex nuraghe consisting of a central tower and a three-lobed concave-convex bastion with a small inner courtyard. The main tower or keep, reaches a residual height of 12 metres. The bastion is preserved to a height of about 5 metres and is built differently from the donjon; in fact, the blocks are worked with more care and the arrangement in rows is more regular. The original entrance to the donjon is inaccessible due to collapse. To enter inside the tower, one must enter through one of the openings in the structure. The masonry visible inside the chamber should be that of the outer face, as the inner face is largely collapsed. In the donjon and bastion, there are several openings of uncertain function.
From Cagliari, take the SS 554. In the vicinity of Quartucciu, after the first junction, turn first right and then left on the flyover and take the SS 125. The only towns you pass through are San Gregorio and San Priamo. Just before Muravera, at km 51, adjacent to the SS 125, the monument is well signposted and easy to access’.
