The Su Monte archaeological site is located on the left bank of the Tirso river, about 2 km from the village of Sorradile, near Lake Omodeo.
It is a sanctuary that consists of several structures. The buildings are located within a large enclosure or temenos.
The various buildings are arranged around a main structure of a cultic nature: it is a small temple with a circular plan, preceded by a trapezoidal-shaped vestibule. The latter is equipped with seats built into the walls.
The temple is made of carefully shaped and juxtaposed blocks.
Inside the circular chamber of the temple, archaeologists found numerous artefacts: bronze votive offerings, including a shrine, utensils and ritual vessels. Among the various artefacts, the large altar basin in the centre of the structure stands out. It is made of trachyte blocks bound through lead grafts. The altar was sculpted in the shape of a nuraghe and is reminiscent of other similar Nuragic artefacts, including the altar basin of the nuraghe Su Mulinu di Villanovafranca.
During excavations, numerous collapsed blocks were found, which were part of the temple.
To the east of the temple is a kind of elliptical enclosure built with finely worked blocks. Through the enclosure is access to two smaller structures, one made of finely hewn blocks located to the north of the temple, and another to the east.
