We are talking about ‘Sa Prejone ‘e s’Orku, in the territory of Siniscola.
Located on the north-eastern slope of Montalbo, it is one of the most archaeologically interesting caves in the entire territory, as it was used as a burial and cult site in the Nuragic period. Its entrance was narrowed and adapted by the Nuragics who built a steep staircase, which still continues to fulfil its function after 3500 years. At the end of the staircase is a large hall with a large stalagmite that connects to the ceiling of the cave. There are numerous stalactites and concretions that make it very fascinating from a naturalistic point of view, but the evocation of its Nuragic past is of great impact and emotion. Around the 1980s, a project for the recovery of the archaeological heritage of the Siniscola area, provided the cave with a large iron staircase that is still present today, whose function is to make it easier to enter the main hall.
