“Located on the top of the Giara di Gesturi, in an extremely panoramic position and easily accessible by car.
The Bruncu Madugui complex is perhaps the clearest known example of Protonuragic architecture.
The protonuraghe, elongated in shape, preserves eight rows of basalt blocks. The interior is characterised by a corridor that runs the entire length of it. A narrow entrance leads to a staircase that leads to two chambers located on the upper floor. The corridor then descends again to lead to a possible second entrance.
A short distance away is the village composed of circular huts with paved floors and equipped with hearths, niches and seats: each block faces a central courtyard.
From the centre of the village of Gesturi, on the left, marked by signs, begins the road to the Giara. Proceed for 4.2 km until you reach the car park located at the top of the Giara, where the current entrance to the park is also located: the nuraghe is on the left and is about 4,000 m away on a small road on foot or by car’ (source: Ministry of Culture – Idese).
