14a: Nuraghe Oschina and Giant’s Tombs of Goronna – Paulilatino

14a: A short distance from the nuragic complex of Santa Cristina di Paulilatino and surrounded by dense vegetation, stands the nuraghe Oschina, which also includes an extensive village, although its huts have been reduced to piles of stones. Inside the monument, one can appreciate the two opposing niches and the still intact tholos.

The archaeological complex of Goronna, also in Paulilatino, is a true necropolis of giant tombs. It includes 4 or perhaps 5 burials, two of which with “arched stele,” still preserved in good condition. The main burial features a wide arched exedra – with slightly hinted wings – that connects seamlessly with the burial chamber, adorned with a concave-convex line.

The photos of the nuraghe Oschina, in Paulilatino, are by Marco Cocco and Maurizio Cossu. Those of the main giant tomb of Goronna, also in the territory of Paulilatino, are by Sergio Melis.
