94b.2, 94c.2 and 94d.2: Nuraghe Bau Mendula; Nuraghe and tombs of giants of Craddaxius – Villaurbana

94b.2, 94c.2 and 94d.2: The “Bau Mendula” of Villaurbana is a complex nuraghe, consisting of a central tower and four added towers. The building, dating back to 1400-1000 BC, is located on the border between the municipalities of Oristano and Villaurbana. Surrounded by scrub and vegetation, it is not easily accessible and visitable.

The nuraghe Craddaxius, also in the territory of Villaurbana, is one of the countless monuments of its kind present within the area. Its condition is appreciable, but maintenance work by the municipality was necessary due to some landslides.

Near this last nuraghe, there are two distinct collective burials that share the same exedra.

The photos of the Nuraghe Bau Mendula are by Marco Cocco. Those of the nuraghe Craddaxius are by Andrea Mura- Nuragando Sardegna and Francesca Cossu; while those of the homonymous giant tombs are by Andrea Mura-Nuragando Sardegna.
