The giant’s tomb of S’Ena ‘e Thomes in Dorgali

The tomb of the giants of S’Ena e Thomes is located in the territory of Dorgali, in a lush plain.

In the 1970s, it was carefully restored and for this reason it is in excellent condition.

The tomb is made of local granite. The front part is formed by a semicircle (exedra) made up of slabs inserted like knives in the ground and arranged in decreasing height. In the center of the exedra is located the arched stele nearly four meters high and equipped at the bottom with a symbolic small door. The funeral corridor is about 11 meters long and perfectly preserved. The ceiling is flat, consisting of stone slabs arranged horizontally along the walls of the corridor. There are traces of the ancient flooring in granite slabs.

To reach the site, take the SP38 (Dorgali – Lula) and travel until Km 19. Park the car in the area indicated by the sign and continue on foot along the path that leads to the site.
